In a statement received by ARRL on August 14, 2021, the International Amateur Radio Union (IARU-R2) Region 2 has requested radio amateurs in the Americas to keep the following frequencies open to support the emergency in Haiti after the earthquake this morning Communication: 3750 kHz, 7150 kHz and 14330 kHz.

According to preliminary information from the United States Geological Survey (USGS), a magnitude 7.2 earthquake occurred in Haiti on August 14, 2021 at 1229 UTC, located approximately 12 kilometers northeast of Saint-Louis-du-Sud and 33 kilometers east-southeast. Laique, Haiti; 18.352 degrees north latitude, 73.4801 degrees west longitude, and a depth of 10 kilometers.
Mr. Jean-Robert Gaillard of HH2JR, Chairman of the Haitian Radio Club, reported severe structural damage.
